The Prokudin-Gorskii Photo's
Some of the earliest full colour pictures
A colour photographic record of Russia in the early 1900’s. These were created by a unique process using 3 separate negatives to form some of the earliest full colour pictures.
The staff at Library of Congress restored/recreated them using the latest digital technology and they are available to view online. This is a wonderful site. The photos are fascinating, as are the techniques used to create them in 1900’s and restore them for viewing today.
