Thank you for your support which enables funding of $25 Kiva Loan(s). Kiva delivers micro-loans, via local providers, to help people help themselves:

Your initial loan preference

Because of the dynamic nature of Kiva (loans are often funded and disappear rapidly) I cannot enable you to choose a specific initial borrower(s) to support but can aim to support Categories and/or Zones you prefer for the initial loan(s).

As those initial loans are repaid the funds go into the team re-loan pool so will be dispersed across multiple reloans. You can see my current team activity, and the types of loans supported, any time here:

This closed team shows loans funded from Supplier Donations, TypePad crediting hosting costs, historic advert income (I no longer run any advert services) and, since 2025, Ghost subscription income. When TypePad closed I continued the montly donations even though am now funding hosting.

The 'Amount Loaned' is a total of donated funds + reinvested repayments less a small %'age donation (~5%) to Kiva to cover their operational/provision costs.

I don't accept applications to join this team as use it as a way of reporting the blog-based donations but encourage you to join other Kiva teams if you support their goals.
