I'm in Wilderness Magazine?
End of the wonderful Alps To Ocean Trail, not very wilderness!

A few weeks ago, I had a chat with Wilderness Magazine's Leigh Hopkinson (deputy editor) about the benefits of group cycle touring, my travels with Adventure South, even for the solo traveller.

The resulting article about the benefits of fully guided, supported, and fully self-sufficient cycle touring—I've done them all—is a great introduction for those considering getting out there on a bike.

'As a solo traveller, Capper, now 60, finds the tours are a great way to meet like-minded people.'

Whatever you choose, do it! I never imagined a summer trip to Milford Sound would lead, about a decade later, to cycling the Tibetan Plateau with friends met on those New Zealand travels.
