Greg Johnson Some Night Somewhere

Meeting Greg Johnson One Night Here (in Auckland)

Greg Johnson Some Night Somewhere
Why was it signed "Don't wait!'?

Got to meet Greg—at his Auckland pre-show greet—and share how a song of his contributed to me quitting a job to go cycling.

This is what's behind the: 'Don't wait!' signature above.

Back in 2021 I was offered a position in (yet another) corporate restructure.

At 4:32 on August 3, 2021, I was wide awake, thinking about the upcoming work changes, and the phone shuffle playlist picked one of my favourite tracks from Greg's early 'Vine Street Stories' album: 'Don't Wait Another Day'...

Taking that advice, I picked up my phone, fired up OneNote (how I know the time) and wrote what I said at work later that day:

'Thanks for sharing the new tribe/chapter/squad design with me yesterday (Mon 2nd). After due consideration I have decided, although included, I do not see a place for me in it.'
Time Out Drive/Cycling Exploring New Zealand 2021 - 2022
Ten months exploring New Zealand

This is what I did after thatR

I've never been inside Parnell's Holy Trinity Cathedral before, but it was a great venue for a gig. It was a memorable evening, great music, performances, and wide range of tracks from his earliest to the new release: Some Night Somewhere.

Happy 60th Greg, thanks for coming back to NZ to share it with us.

Greg Johnson - Holy Trinity Cathedral: October 31, 2026 (13th)
Aucklander and long-time LA resident Greg Johnson is back in Aotearoa in his birthday year and sharing the love.
