WRC Rally - Ford stay, PSA's last year

After they fled from F1 Ford staying in WRC for four years was a surprise .  The shock is that both Peugeot and Citroen will withdraw at the end of 2005.

I thought it odd that both PSA companies had WRC teams competing fiercely but the answer always given was that they operated completely independently. Now with both pulling perhaps they don't. I think the most likely reason is that times are tough and what is there left to prove?

Peugeot /Citroen have achieved amazing results in the past 5 years:

  • Five manufacturers titles
  • Three drivers titles

22-24 April 2005 will be the last chance to see them in action in New Zealand when the WRC hits the roads .
