Hon Simeon Brown,

Congratulations on your recent appointment as Energy Minister. It is at a very challenging time, but also presents some unique opportunities.

I look forward to you (in that capacity and as Health Minister) working with the Hon Chris Bishop (as Transport & Infrastructure Minister) to fast track implementation of alternative mode transport projects—such as bus & bike lanes, cycle & shared paths, road lane reallocation and urban calming—to enable increased use of alternative transport modes in response to the energy crisis.

The threat of disruption is real, but also presents an unprecedented opportunity to save energy, improve health, reduce fossil fuel dependency & pollution, by building infrastructure at low cost, with high return on investment, compared to current ​proposed transport projects. A dream scenario for all your respective ministries.

I encourage you to prioritize these transport alternatives and look forward to your response.
