The Uno lives, another six months at least

When you own a fourteen year old car the six monthly Warrant Of Fitness, road worthiness inspection, means a little apprehension.  Anything major means the sums don’t add as the repairs rapidly exceed the value of the car!

The Mighty Uno, now up to 226,000km, got thru with no remarks other than a note to inspect the front brake discs at the next service. Barring accidents (or Lotto wins), I’ll be pedalling it for another six months at least…

With petrol (96/98) now at $1.73/Litre it’s not so bad driving a car that averages 6.5 l/100km (about 44mpg) around town no matter how much you thrash it.*

* With only 999cc/33 Kw you can thrash it and remain perfectly legal
