Thanks Cycle City Manukau!
Thanks to the workshop at Cycle City Manukau.
Was cycling while a quiet country road near Auckland Airport and heard a strange 'ping'. Soon after what felt initially like a flat tyre turned out to be a broken spoke on the rear wheel. It was still in place but the head had gone, thus the ping!
50km home with a wobbly wheel would have been a pain but I don't carry a spare. Can't remember last time I had a broken spoke!
I loosened off the brakes and made it to Cycle City. Although the workshop looked pretty busy they fixed it for me in a few minutes so the ride home - via Botany, Panmure, Kohimarama, City and Nth Western Cycle Path - was much better.
100km + 1100m climbing today if Cycle Tracks elevation tracking can be believed!
