Hello Space Station
Nice clear evening to see the Space Station, lower of the two 'stars' on this phone snap, pass over Auckland tonight!

Was early for a morning dental appointment, as Te Atatu Rd was nowhere near as congested as I anticipated. Had time for a 20 minute stroll along the waterfront path. Lovely views, followed by a ‘just a pick & polish needed’ annual check-up.
Nice to see the new Patiki underpass open. This replaces an over-head bridge; narrow, steep and bumpy. The underpass looked quite low, tight, during construction but the result is a nice open swoop under the Patiki interchange. Pity they haven’t done the same at Carrington Rd and St Lukes!
Evening walk on the Mercer Bay loop. Out near Piha, turn left at the top of the hill. Awesome sheer cliffs with Tasman Ocean views. Alfie’s sometimes scared of heights but it didn’t worry him here*. * Although it looks a bit precarious that's not quite the
Although the GPS tracked 76km this is a 73km ride. I joined the North Western cycle path in Henderson and headed for the city. Apart from crossing St Lukes road (near Western Springs) you can ride all the way to the ferry terminal without going on the road. Jumped on

Only 72km but technically it was a coast-to-coast ride. In fact, the coast-to-coast part is only about 6km by road, about 1.5km by foot! From home I went along the western cycle path to the city and Waitemata Harbour waterfront. Then to St Heliers, Panmure, Mt Wellington and Penrose

Short local loop, some quiet back roads and a bit of bush single track (shared, so not racy) and a section of the Scenic Drive. Just 23km but 600m climbing and a fun tarmac descent down West Coast Rd (max 62 km/h without pedalling!).

Quite a bit of rain made this more of a jump than normal. He did it, but not without a bit of a think.. Overspill on the Upper Nihotupu dam was pretty too, but made climbing the steps up the face a bit damp. Plenty of water for westie Aucklanders
