Auckland Viaduct was a fishing basin, home to trawlers and long-liners, before the Americas Cup arrived prompting a long overdue make-over. Although the apartments and visiting super-yachts are still there, the fishing boats which have returned make an interesting contrast.
Looped thru the Viaduct on a cycle ride & found the supermaxi NZL80 Alfa Romeo (Sydney Hobart runner up) is in town. She is an impressive sight, even when not sailing.
