While writing about the Lenovo W700DS in a recent post I needed to know what 11 pounds was, in Kilograms, so turned to a cool freeware utility I use all the time. "Convert" does what it says turning meaningless illogical units into their sane metric equivalents , or the other way if you wish.
I wondered what the "advp" and "troy" was all about so researched the whole Avoirdupois, Troy and other (even metric?*) pounds mess. I'd heard of Troy Ounce before but didn't really know what they meant. The result of that was I found 11 pounds is about 5 Kilograms and I'm thankful I grew up in a metric country. I also think "Convert 2" should include, or link to, definitions of the units being converted.

* It seems some thought 0.5 kg should be be a "Metric Pound". It's actually 1.10231 Pounds so the whole idea seems daft to me. I've never heard it used in New Zealand, maybe elsewhere?
