Hardly surprising, considering AutoCAD Architecture;
- Is bundled with the Revit Suite (essentially given away for the price of plain AutoCAD)
- Is rarely promoted, if at all, as a stand-alone application (in our market at least).
- If mentioned at all, it's as transition path to Revit.
- Has had, excluding AutoCAD platform inherited improvements, minimal development in recent years.
It's much more than AutoCAD for Architects but perhaps it's also heading the same way as Mechanical Desktop.
Autodesk F3Q09 (Qtr End 10/31/08) Earnings Call Transcript - Seeking Alpha
"Turning to our 2D products, AutoCAD grew 10% and we saw a bounce-back of LT, which grew 12%. Revenue from 2D vertical products decreased 6% as we experienced particularly weak sales of AutoCAD Architecture on a global basis. We attribute the weakness of standalone AutoCAD Architecture to the slow-down in building worldwide and the recent launch of Revit Architecture Suite, which includes AutoCAD Architecture."
