TypePad will be crediting all active members with one free week of service to compensate for their recent problems. That’s nice, thank you, but I’d also like to see a way for users to easily backup their entire account content/structure to a local file.
No matter how robust the TypePad system is the ability to archive/control content, which can represent many hours of work, would be a comfort. You can export Posts (XML) & Type lists (OPML). This works well and it’s how I split my old CAD Blog into CAD/Personal earlier this year.
However there is no way to backup the images, files and other content that make up a blog. Come on TypePad, is it that difficult?
PS: I wonder if NZ Retailers will be compensated for the recent EFTPOS system failure
