I have decided to split RobiNZ Blog into separate CAD/IT and Personal Blogs. I have been considering this for some time. It initially started out as a CAD blog but wandered into all sorts of topics. The separation will allow more focused coverage for CAD and more variation on the other side.
Doing the split has been interesting. TypePad has some great features, which I will cover in a later post, that have made this division painless. Feedburner and BlogJet make managing and posting to them simple. The hardest part was deciding to do it!
I still have a few things to finish but if you find any broken bits please let me know.
The base URL http://rcd.typepad.com will bring you to an index page where you can choose a blog. Each new blog has its own unique URL and RSS Feed for direct access if you are not interested in the other. This is one of the main reasons I’ve made this change.
RobiNZ CAD Blog
CAD, Design, IT and related stuff!
http://rcd.typepad.com/rcd/ (the old RobiNZ Blog URL)
CAD, Design, IT and related stuff!
http://rcd.typepad.com/rcd/ (the old RobiNZ Blog URL)
RobiNZ Personal Blog
No CAD, just all the other stuff
http://rcd.typepad.com/personal/
To Access the other Blog:
Each blog will have side-bar headline animators which show the latest 5 post headlines and can be used to "Switch Blogs". Just click on the one you want.
To Subscribe to a Blog RSS Feed:
Look for a "Subscribe To..." List in each Blog side-bar. All the feed icons will be applicable only to that specific Blog.
The existing RobiNZ Blog URL & RSS Feeds now apply to RobiNZ CAD Blog. All new "non-CAD" content will be on the new Personal Blog. Old "non-CAD" content" will be left on RobiNZ CAD Blog as removing will upset trackbacks and external links. These articles have been duplicated on my new blog and will permanently stored there when the links stale. Non-CAD Categories will be seen until I "un-categorise" the old posts.
