An interesting drive today, my first time in a Nissan Cube. I was a bit apprehensive to start with because it was an automatic, and I so rarely drive them, but still had three pedals. The third is a foot parking brake which would have been troublesome if treated like the clutch pedal I’m used to having there. Had to do that ‘tuck the left leg under the seat’ thing and also remember the wipers/indicators are reversed compared to the Italians.
As I just rolled down the motorway from Albany to Northcote, & back, can’t really comment on the driving experience but found the driving position interesting. Although it looks car’like, with a bonnet, the dashboard is still almost people-mover deep. Even though I’m short I was sitting back near the B pillar so it feels like there is a lot of car ahead of you. Mind you, in comparison with the Abarth every car feels lengthy!
The Cube was a loan car as AHBART was at Final Touch Auckland (Rosedale, North Shore) to get a minor inherited parking ding, some scrapes on the inner door sill dealt with and a few stone chips touched up. The leading edge of the clamshell bonnet seems to be vulnerable to them. I also treated it to their Dura-Seal G4 Ceramic paint protection application and the results are brilliant. It was pretty good before, considering eight years as previous owners and my daily drive, but looks awesome now.

Lighting wasn’t the best for photos on the way home but the ding and stone chips are sorted, it’s beautifully detailed and with its new shiny ceramic protected coat AHBART looks awesome. If you are looking to treat your car, and yourself, I recommend you talk to Final Touch Auckland.
