Heading South

Seemed a little bit busy, and slightly unorganized, at Auckland airport. In the time it took to drop a bag & waltz thru security (yes officer that is a bicycle seat in my cabin bag) they changed the gate. It was to be a no air-bridge one so lined up only to find that plane was heading to Wellington!
Seems we had an aircraft change & gate change but this 737 seems to be going fine. It was a nice sunny, Simpsons clouds , day in Auckland but seems to be clouding over as we head further south.
This was written over W(h)anganui and I couldn't see Mt Taranaki, then realized we were on top of it! Love the perfect circle bush line where the mountain meets the farms.
A little sobering to glide effortlessly over hills that, next time I see them, will be tackled by bicycle.
It was a bit grey & noticeably cooler when we touched down. Might be needing that wet weather gear I have lugged but rarely used on my previous Adventure South trips.
