No Flash on Vista, who is to blame?

Is Microsoft Vista, Internet Explorer or Adobe Flash to blame for this?

  • Flash wants to update itself but can't
  • Ok'ing the "run activeX" to install thingy won't work, just appears to install then loops around again.
  • Websites needing Flash report "Either no Java enabled or Flash installed"

But they are, or are they?

  • Check Java and Active Scripting are OK, they are.
  • Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
  • Right Click the FlashUtil##a file (where ## is version no ) and choose "Run as administrator"
  • Reboot, sorted.
