My old Tech goes Google
Google’s blog recently announced that Unitec, my old tech (then known as Carrington Technical Institute), deployed Google Apps to its students across four campuses. When I was there in the mid-eighties there was no Google, let alone web applications, and a few thousand students shared one campus. The bleeding edge of design IT technology were a few copies of AutoCAD 2.something and, just before I left, a Macintosh. The future is wonderful, and we live in it!
Unitec goes Google
Today we're excited that another local tertiary education organisation, Unitec Institute of Technology, has rolled out Google Apps to its students.
Unitec's 23,000 students [from more than 80 countries at Unitec's four campuses] will now be able to access their email accounts, share calendars, collaborate on projects, and share videos anywhere in the world.
