Man 1, Bank 0 - Patrick Combs

I heard Patrick on the radio last week and vaguely remembered his story when it hit the media. Last night went to see his show, part of the Auckland Comedy Festival.

He deposited a junk mail check, for $95,000, as a joke...it cashed!
The rest is history.

The rest is also his live show. Patrick tells his story with the aid of only a few props and a PowerPoint style presentation showing the real cheque, ATM slips, letters etc that support it. The story is funny and his presentation is superb. It’s a story of levity, triumph, paranoia, fear, panic and ultimately… well that would spool it.

Well worth seeing if you get the chance. If you don’t there is a DVD available and his website has the full story but don’t read the ending before you see the show!
