Hanoi to Huế | Day 12 Vietnam Cycle Tour
A flight, a Citadel, temple, and Perfume River cruising
The itinerary:
We transfer you to the airport & your flight to Hue. We will take an afternoon city tour around the Imperial citadel.

Another domestic flight, not great weather (so much of it was in/above cloud) but still a decent look at the countryside on departure/approach.
Huế
Huế, a quiet town (for Vietnam) when we arrived but I think that was just a matter of timing. The city served as the old Imperial City and administrative capital for the Nguyễn dynasty.

Huế Citadel
it was wet, but warm, for our walking tour of the Imperial City of Huế and Citadel. Didn't worry Larry, thrilled with his "Hello Rabbit" umbrella, so cute.
Huế Citadel, Flag tower below, dates back to the early 1800s but featured in 20th century conflict with the French and US/Allies.

Perfume River Cruise
The afternoon included a short cruise down the Perfume River.
The boats looked traditional but used a mix of technology...

The evening meal was a Vietnamese Royal feast, with apparel provided.

* The Imperial City was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 and is undergoing restoration
