Dealing with an infected PC
This is here, as a reference for me, next time someone says;
“I was on the Internet last night and something popped up saying I might have spyware and to click “here” to remove it.
So I clicked “here” and it did something then said I had spyware and to install this application to remove it.
So I installed it and it changed a whole lot of files and stuff on my computer, like my browser toolbars and homepage, then asked for my credit card number.
I thought that was odd so I didn’t enter it (RC: Phew, at least they got one thing right) but it’s mucked everything up and I can’t get rid of it…”
