Building Information Modelling takes off around New Zealand - The Salesoft Autodesk "Building Ideas Roadshow”

Is this a first for New Zealand?

Wellington has seen a 3,500 tonne building on a train but taking a Building Ideas Show on the road is an unusual solution for a problem posed by New Zealand’s geography and population distribution.

Faced with the challenge of presenting BIM Concepts and demonstrating the latest Autodesk AEC Applications throughout the land the team at Salesoft CAD Solutions have found a novel solution; take the Building Ideas Show on the road!

How do you move a BIM Road-show?

You may have recently seen the Microsoft X-Box Bus touring New Zealand. The Building Ideas Bus uses the same vehicle:

• This giant bus measures 13.5 metres long, 4.2m high and 2.5m wide while mobile.
• When it stops, for display, the sides slide out to give a total width of 4.7m
• It’s packed with the latest technology for presentation and hands-on demonstration of computer software so you can see & learn about it.

What will you see?

The Building Ideas Bus will bring the latest Autodesk Applications and information for Building Industry Specialists, Companies, Educators, and Students between Hamilton & Invercargill, finishing in Queenstown (1st – 10th May, 2006).

It will feature presentations focusing on Architecture, Structural Design and Education. You can see the latest Revit Building, Revit Structure, Architectural Desktop and AutoCAD applications in action. In most locations this will be before they are officially presented at the Auckland Autodesk New Zealand Design Masters Event.
