Boeing to use 3DL Sail technology to "spin" composite aircraft fuselages
Boeing are planning to develop principles and technology created by North Sails for 3DL yacht sails to "spin" composite aircraft fuselage sections for the 7E7 aircraft. While composite aircraft fuselage are used for military (small, largely hand made and very expensive) and use of components in passenger aircraft isn't new the size of the components they are planning is vast. Complete wide-body fuselage sections spun in composite!

Sailing technology may change the face of aviation, as Boeing strives to build carbon fibre jetliners.
Its North Sails 3DL technology, but no we are not going to fly the skies with a 3DL carbon main, with that familiar blue sticker…
