Boeing corporate vs engineering
Engineering profits or aircraft?
This line from a recent Boeing email (and linked website article):
"Bill Boeing’s principles still define how the company should operate: If it’s built here, it’s built right."
Should—their word, my bolding—is the important word in that quote. The 737 Max showed that was far from how they were operating. It's notable that many of the examples hark back to a Boeing that focused on engineering aircraft, not stock prices. A legacy of McDonald Douglas thinking infecting old Boeing?
