Another Peugeot big car concept - Why do they bother?

Why do Peugeot bother doing large luxury car concepts? Might as well just flush the money down the toilet. No matter how good the product, lately they’re not, nobody rates them (or Renault) as serious contenders in the large luxury car market. The upper limit for Peugeot credibility is the 407, beyond that they are transport for French Govt officials.

Fiat have the same problem, even struggling to produce a 2.0 litre car that matches the flair of their smaller offerings. I haven’t seen the figures but bet the Croma isn’t a stellar seller. Odd thing is Fiat Group can produce some decent, if quirky, large luxury contenders. The black Maserati Quattroporte I saw on the way to work today certainly looked pretty nice!
