An apple a day, the Abarth way!

Maybe my love of apples and Abarth is linked?

Carlo Abarth and his apples

A post, on the official Abarth Facebook account, amused me as my Abarth does regular trips, in season, to Dragicevich Orchard, Oratia near home.

Collage of Carlo Abarth, a basket of apples and his cars. Text reads "Did you know that, at 57, Carlo Abarth lost 30 kg on an apple-based diet — a fruit that reminded him of his native Austria — to fit into his Fiat Abarth “1000 Monoposto Record”? A man of incredible strength. Just like the machines he created."

Along with freshly picked apples, pears, plums and grapes they sell the best apple juice ever. They pick and sell at the gate (no cold store nonsense) so you only get what is in season, what is good.

My Abarth 500 Esseesse knows this place

Although Abarth are not common in NZ there is at least one other regular customer with one. Oh, and they still have an old Fiat tractor from the 1960s.

I reckon Carlo Abarth would approve.

Plenty of space for apples and more...
I have far more than an apple a day, more like 3-4kg a week...
