Adventure South on Getaway, memorable because I did!

I haven’t done the “Alps to Ocean” route shown here but have ridden many of these roads on various Adventure South tours. It’s only a short clip but brings back memories of awesome trips, road/lakeside lunches (and the bus carrying all your kit!).

I rode the Pukaki canals on my first trip in 2004. It was, literally, a picture postcard perfect day:

I didn’t get the chance to ride a Penny Farthing in Oamaru but its memorable for another reason. I suspect you could possibly do 79.3 km/h down this (San Francisco’like steep) Oamaru hill on a bike but would need a GPS to verify it....
