7.5 km Muriwai beach walk

Took Alf for a 7.5km (return) walk along Muriwai beach this afternoon. Managed to avoid the rain, met a few dogs for him to play with and wore one out which was the goal!

Tried out the slow motion video on my phone, not exactly Baywatch…

I think he may have exceeded the 30 km/h speed limit at times.

I walked 9,885 steps according to my phone. With little legs x 2, additional dune climbing and many extra zigs and zags I reckon he did about 98,850.

Time to head back, to that headland in the distance. Although it looks gloomy was actually quite warm, lots of sea spray/mist but no actual rain until we got back to the car.

Lots of kite surfers, and quite a few non-kite surfers, for a winter day although the break was pretty messy.
